CONTEXT / SCOPE
The core objective driving this redesign project was to not only enhance Musa's website aesthetics but also to empower our marketing team with greater autonomy in making site alterations.
This strategic shift aimed to bolster our lead generation efforts and amplify user engagement through targeted campaigns and initiatives. Thus, the redesign sought to marry beauty with functionality, crafting a design that not only captivated but also facilitated seamless alterations within Figma and Webflow platforms, given our lack of a dedicated development team focused on Webflow.
Process
Revisiting and refining design principles to ensure they were not only visually appealing but also actionable, equipping our marketing team with the tools to make informed decisions and modifications effortlessly.
Consolidating and simplifying layouts to provide a coherent framework for future modifications, streamlining the process for our marketing team.
Developing modular templates designed to be flexible and adaptable within Figma and Webflow environments, empowering the marketing team to make changes autonomously.
Establishing clear guidelines and best practices for using these templates, enabling the marketing team to navigate the design process with confidence and efficiency.
Implementing a systematic approach to promoting new templates and updates, ensuring the continued relevance and effectiveness of our website in engaging with users and driving conversions.
Principles
At the heart of the redesign initiative lay a commitment to elevating the user experience through thoughtful design and technical innovation. By articulating clear design principles and fostering a collaborative design ecosystem, we aimed to empower the team to explore new creative avenues while maintaining a cohesive and compelling visual identity.
The old design
Layouts & Grids
During the third quarter of 2023, Musa's Design Framework underwent a substantial transformation. Throughout this phase, I had the opportunity to work closely with the team, playing a pivotal role in the evolution of a cohesive layout system that served the needs of both applications and web pages.
Template Development with Webflow Integration
After compiling all templates within the Web Kit library, I programmed their logic using auto-layout, grids, and styles available in the Design System Core Library, seamlessly integrating them into Webflow's framework.
To enhance usability within the Webflow environment, I established a naming convention for the templates. This allows designers to easily navigate through different viewport and theme options when selecting specific section templates.
