Similar to the swipe-based interface of Tinder, Magroove empowers users to navigate through a curated selection of tracks, starting from a favorite song and seamlessly exploring recommendations tailored to their taste.

Problem

As a digital music distributor for independent artists, Magroove faces the challenge of users encountering generic recommendations on existing music platforms. This limitation hinders users' exploration of diverse tracks from the same artist, causing frustration and disengagement.

To address this, we prioritized authentic music experiences over popularity metrics, aligning with its mission to support independent artists' visibility and growth.

Following these challenges, we conducted both quantitative and qualitative research, including interviews, to gain deeper insights into user behaviors and preferences. These research efforts provided valuable insights that guided our solution development process.

Thinking

How might we revolutionize the music streaming experience by prioritizing musical elements over popularity metrics, ensuring users discover authentic music aligned with their preferences and empowering independent artists to gain visibility?

Hypothesis

The hypothesis driving Magroove's new AI-powered app was that by focusing solely on musical attributes, rather than mainstream trends, they could deliver more personalized recommendations that catered to individual tastes. By amplifying the diversity within an artist's catalog and promoting lesser-known tracks, they aimed to enhance user engagement and support independent musicians.
